Shamim Miah

Dr Shamim Miah is a Senior Lecturer at School of Education, University of Huddersfield, Senior Fellow at Centre for Postnormal Policy and Futures Studies and an associate editor at Critical Muslim. He is the author of three academic books: Muslims, Schooling and the Question of Self-Segregation; Muslims and the Question of Security: Trojan Horse, Prevent and Racialised Politics and (co-authored) : Race, Space and Multiculturalism in Northern England: M62 and the Corridor of Uncertainty. Shamim has recently completed a biography of Ibn Khaldun (due 2022) and is currently working with Prof Zia Sardar on the Postnormal Times Reader (Volume 2). Prior to embarking upon an academic career, Shamim was as a Senior Policy Officer for Oldham Council and was actively involved in the voluntary sector through youth and community work.
