Get involved in this lively celebration of literature, taking place outside of Pakistan for the first time.

Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) draws thousands of visitors to a host of events overlooking Chinna creek, exploring literature and freedom of expression.

his year, the KLF takes place outside of Pakistan for the first time, in a full day of talks, debates and performances, showcasing the talent and diversity of Pakistan's literary scene, both at home and abroad.

In partnership with Southbank Centre's Literature Team, KLF have programmed a day packed with discussions that immerse audiences in the creativity of Pakistani culture. From hard-hitting debates about contemporary life, to readings from established and emerging voices and family-friendly events, culminating in a music show, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The day highlights and celebrates Pakistan’s rich history and culture on the 70th anniversary of the country’s foundation.

‘It is not possible to bring the world to Pakistan to savour our literature and cultural creativity but it is possible to take it to the world. The cultural crossroad that is the great city of London is the perfect place to bring together our authors, both from within Pakistan and the Pakistani diaspora, to celebrate the vigour and originality of their writings in the 70th year of Pakistan’s independence.’ (Ameena Saiyid, co-founder of KLF).
