Clive Stafford-Smith with Jon Snow at the Southbank Centre
Come see Reprieve's Director Clive Stafford Smith talk about his new book, Injustice, with Reprieve patron and journalist Jon Snow.
Time: 8.15pm, 11 July 2012
Place: Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre
Throughout his career, Clive has represented more than 300 prisoners facing the death penalty in the southern USA, prevailing in all but six cases. He was one of the first lawyers to be allowed into the prison at Guantánamo Bay, and has to date helped to release 65 of the men held there - including all British nationals. He founded Reprieve in 2009, and the organisation's work has since expanded to include victims of drone strikes and extraordinary rendition, as well as helping pharmaceutical companies prevent their drugs from being used in US executions.
Clive's new book, Injustice, tells the story of his journey to becoming the founder of Reprieve and a global champion of prisoners' rights.
