The British Islam Conference

in
Saturday, 25 Feb to Sunday, 26 Feb 2017 10:00am to 2:00pm
Human Rights Action Centre, Amnesty International, London

The British Islam Conference, organised by New Horizons, is back again with keynote speaker Karen Armstrong OBE making a special appearance. The weekend bonanza promotes collaboration and thinking around the idea of a British Islam and encourages the development of British Muslim thought, identity and culture; as well as creating a space for the development of networks and partnerships.

The British Islam Conference promotes an open, inclusive and forward-looking arena for debate, discussion and the sharing of ideas that are rooted in the British context.

But this is not an academic event; it is about using all avenues possible, including art and culture, to enhance Muslim voices.

The conference will see a number of parallel sessions where people (of any faith or no faith) can showcase their ideas and thoughts, relevant to the theme – however controversial or safe.

A FESTIVAL OF IDEAS:
- Presentations and workshops by activists, organisers, thinkers and scholars (programme to be announced)
- Poetry and musical performances in the evening
